Advanced Wire Feeding and Helmets Improve Heavy Fabrication Work

The LN-25X portable industrial wire feeder and next-generation Viking 2450 and 3350 Series welding helmets from Lincoln Electric increase welder productivity and safety.

Posted: October 24, 2019

For MIG and Flux-Cored processes in construction, pipe, metal fabrication, shipbuilding and rental fleet applications, the LN-25X portable industrial wire feeder with CrossLinc and True Voltage Technology from Lincoln Electric provides greater control with fewer cables to drastically reduce movement. Its heavy-duty Maxtrac cast aluminum wire drive system is optimized for both soft and hard wires and offers easy wire-loading and cleaning.
Viking 2450 (shown here) and 3350 Series welding helmets feature 4C optics and exclusive X6 Headgear that contours to the operator’s head to evenly distribute weight across six key contact points, improve balance, eliminate pressure points and provide a personalized fit for maximum comfort. An external grind button allows the operator to switch quickly between weld to grind mode without removing their helmet or gloves, significantly reducing downtime while offering additional safety. With safety and efficiency top of the mind, this wire feeder is designed with a variety of enhanced features to improve the welder’s experience, whether they’re in a shipyard or 100 ft off the ground. Features include:

  • Adjustable wire run-in speed for softer starting.
  • Arc hours meter.
  • Bright digital meters for easy viewing, even in bright sunlight.
  • English or metric unit configuration.
  • Maxtrac® wire drive system for reliable feeding and durability.
  • Optional flowmeter for easy gas flow adjustment at the feeder.
  • Potted PC boards, providing moisture and corrosion protection.
  • Replaceable and flame-resistant case to protect internal components.
  • Split wire guide, which reduces birdnesting and allows for easy cleaning no-fuss wire guide alignment.
  • Trigger interlock switch for operator comfort for long welds.
  • Weld timers, including pre-flow, post-flow, and burn back.

The LN-25X can be used in MIG and Flux-Cored processes and is equipped with a variety of built-in technology. CrossLinc and True Voltage Technology improve all aspects of operation, providing safety, quality and improved productivity. The Maxtrac Wire Drive System, a heavy-duty cast aluminum wire drive system, is optimized for both soft and hard wires and offers easy wire-loading and cleaning. Lincoln Electric also offers their next generation of professional auto-darkening welding helmets: The Viking™ 2450 and 3350 Series welding helmets feature industry-leading 4C® optics, innovative headgear to improve comfort and a low-profile external grind button to increase productivity. The new one-of-a-kind X6 Headgear™ contours to the operator’s head to evenly distribute weight across six key contact points. This improves balance, eliminates pressure points and provides a personalized fit for maximum comfort. The addition of the new external grind button allows the operator to switch quickly between weld to grind mode without having to remove their helmet or gloves. This significantly reduces operator downtime while offering additional safety benefits.

Both the 2450 and 3350 Series helmets feature exclusive auto-darkening liquid crystal lens that offer:

  • 4C lens technology
  • 1/1/1/1 optical clarity
  • 5 sq in and 9.3 sq in viewing areas
  • Premium technical specifications

These features broaden the color range and hues that can be seen in both light and dark states. This eliminates imperfections and color saturation to create the clearest view of the base material, arc and puddle while reducing eyestrain. Both models live up to their professional grade with a number features that were designed to enhance versatility and performance for use in any environment or application, all backed by a hassle-free three-year warranty. The next generation of Viking 2450 and 3350 Series welding helmets is available in 24 different styles.
