In Booth A-3656, FreePoint Technologies Inc. (London, ON) announces the release of their ShiftWorx™ Application Programming Interface (API) and Narrative 2™ applications that will help manufacturers capture more uptime and downtime information empirically on the plant floor, and leverage their data more effectively by making it easier to use artificial intelligence (AI) or other advanced data analysis for connecting to their enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. Narrative 2 builds on the extremely successful Narrative module by adding such features as Job Information, specific Operator information, and Scrap information. The empirically-collected machine data is augmented with downtime and scrap explanations entered by the Operator through intuitive and operator-friendly web browser-based software using readily available tablets, PCs or devices of the customer’s choosing.
Two primary benefits to this approach are that management gets critical downtime information in real-time to help them make data driven decisions, and operators become more engaged as they become part of the solution, not the problem. The API provides ShiftWorx users (and third-party programmers) an extremely powerful set of data sort and extraction utilities, making it easy for customers to ‘mine their data’ or connect their data through to their ERP or other software systems. ShiftWorx software solutions do more than simply connect to machines and collect data, it connects with people, delivering relevant information in real-time, improving employee engagement and driving continuous productivity improvements.
