In Booth B-15077, Quaker Houghton (Norristown, PA) will feature their new Houghto-Prep ZP5 phosphorus-free cleaner and self-limiting coating for ferrous, aluminum, and other non-ferrous components in preparation for paint and other organic coatings. It cleans and coats faster for short dwell times. Houghto-Prep ZP5 displaces surface soils/oils and, using an efficient proprietary zirconium oxide chemistry, produces an amorphous coating that promotes paint adhesion and salt spray resistance. This easy-to-operate technology will reject oil extremely efficiently, allowing for continuous and complete removal with any oil removal system. Also, minimal removal of metal occurs, providing low levels of sludge and long bath life. Joe Smith, one of the company’s business development managers, will be speaking at show about their innovative Zero Discharge Spray Washer Process that uses this Houghto-Prep ZP5 conversion coating.
