Reading Alloys (Robesonia, PA) appointed Michael Wilkes as their new product manager for powders, overseeing the ongoing growth of their range of powders-based products. This includes high-purity titanium and titanium alloy powders, produced via a hydride-dehydride (HDH) process used for coatings in orthopedic medical devices, advanced electronics, traditional powder metallurgy and additive manufacturing. Other products include specialty powders and master alloys used for hard-facing, brazing and thermal sprays, as well as advanced alloying applications.

Wilkes holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and Marketing from Pennsylvania State University and has also completed the Executive Education General Management Program at Harvard Business School. He previously worked at Carpenter Technologies in Reading, where he was the director of global customer service and was responsible for leading global customer service quality, inside sales and customer service teams at seven global locations while also supporting multiple brands and products. “I am very pleased to welcome Mike to our Powders team,” said Mike Marucci, the vice president of sales and marketing for powders. “He will be accountable for the growth and continued development of our advanced materials portfolio. What’s more, he’ll concentrate on continued customer support and search for new opportunities focused on the titanium and specialty powders that we produce.”

“I am very excited about joining Reading Alloys at a key time in the company’s growth,” added Wilkes. “I look forward to working with the team to ensure that the company remains a pioneer in metal powders production and development.”
