At its 31st annual conference, the Additive Manufacturing Users Group (AMUG; Milwaukee, WI) presented Elizabeth Goode, with its President’s Award. She is the eighth to receive this prestigious award, is an additive manufacturing veteran and owner of Goode Ink, which provides consulting services for marketing and strategy. For the past nine years, she has been a key advisor to the AMUG board and is presently their principal consultant.

Chairperson Gary Rabinovitz, stated, “AMUG has relied on Elizabeth’s guidance to become what it is today. Nine years ago, the organization was at a crossroads; it was in a critical transitional phase. Her counsel and insights put the organization on the path to success.” He noted that in 2010, the annual conference had just over 100 attendees while the 2019 conference had 2,064 users converge on Chicago, IL.

She now holds two of their highest recognitions, having been presented with a Distinguished INnovator Operator (DINO) Award in 2016. She noted that while she was honored to receive the DINO Award, she was stunned by the presentation of the President’s Award. Goode said, “I was shocked and amazed to be added to the exclusive list of influential contributors to the organization.” She continued, “It has been a pleasure to serve. I have a deep love for the AMUG community and the organization; being asked to contribute has allowed me to play a role in the growth of each.”

Paul Bates, AMUG’s president, said, “I have served as the president and vice president for the past four years. Throughout that time, I turned to Elizabeth for support and guidance, which I could always count on.” He continued, “As I approach the end of my term, I do so with confidence in the strategic plan, organizational structure, and the team. She was instrumental in building each of those pillars that have supported and will continue to fuel our success.”

Rabinovitz also noted that while her primary role was strategic in nature, she was always quick to take on duties at any level. He said, “Elizabeth would coach, supervise and act. She joined me in building the annual conference agenda and would then take on the tasks of designing and printing that program, building a mobile app, and coordinating speaker activities. Those are just a few of the day-to-day duties she would happily take on throughout the year.”
