IWDC Appoints New Regional Manager

The Independent Welding Distributors Cooperative (IWDC; Indianapolis, IN) announced that Greg Mayer has joined them as a northern regional sales manager. In this role, he is responsible for promoting their value proposition to membership, driving profitable growth of vendor partner brands and Weldmark® brand. He brings to the IWDC a wealth of professional experience in the welding hard good business with 23 plus years in the industry. His career started with Jackson Products in 1996 as a district sales manager and remained with them for over a decade covering Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and Western New York.

Mayer then spent six years with Weldcraft, a division of ITW, as a regional sales manager and national sales manager. While employed there, he successfully negotiated bid proposals with Matheson, Airgas and major buying groups. He then accepted a position at Jackson Welding in Pittsburgh, PA (his home town) and in 2014, was offered a sales position with ORS Nasco selling into the welding/industrial channels. Most recently, he worked at Direct Wire & Cable where he was their national sales manager.

A graduate of Robert Morris University, he was born and raised in Pittsburgh and lives there now with his wife and two children. He is an avid Steelers and Penguins fan, enjoys all sports and spending time with family and friends.
