Multi-Tasking Machining of Complex Geometries in Hard Solid Materials

For small batch size production of automotive parts, fittings, pneumatics, hydraulics and other precision parts, PC multi-spindle automatics from Schütte deliver turning, tapping, mill cutting, polygon cutting, eccentric drilling and rear-side machining operations in one setup.

Featuring short setup, non-production and part production times, a single PC series multi-spindle automatic from Schütte performs several production processes by using six or eight work spindles, endworking and cross slides that can be controlled independently of each other, rear-side machining by up to three tools, and over 56 CNC axes that are easily programmed with the SICS 2000 system.
For producing a wide variety of workpiece geometries, the SCX multi-spindle automatic lathe from Schütte provides free speed selection, free falling chips, extended machining on its second workpiece side through exact transfer and three additional spindles, and extended rear-side machining, including C-axis and Y-axis, that expands its machining range.

To stay competitive, shops must be able to react quickly and flexibly to market requirements, producing more complex workpieces in smaller batch sizes with shorter life cycles. These conditions can be met by using multi-spindle automatic lathes from Schütte MSA, LLC (Jackson, MI). A single lathe performs several production processes, and everything that is not directly related to the production of workpieces has been eliminated from the machining area. There are no drives, cables, slides, lubrication lines or cooling lines within the tooling area. The clean and freely accessible machining area provides the greatest possible configuration flexibility and the simplest retooling and tool retrofitting. When greater capabilities are required – such as machining non-ferrous metal or steel, combining heavy roughing with accuracy and providing simple programming with versatility – PC series multi-spindle automatics from Schütte answer the call. These machining centers are used whenever classic cam-controlled automatics reach their limit.

Besides turning, PC multi-spindle automatics perform tapping, mill cutting, polygon cutting and eccentric drilling operations using six or eight work spindles, endworking and cross slides that can be controlled independently of each other. Rear-side machining can be done by up to three tools. Over 56 CNC axes can be easily programmed with the SICS 2000 system. These machining centers are designed for material removal of geometrically sophisticated parts made of hard solid materials. PC multi-spindle automatics are designed to be robust, durable and technically flexible for complex drilling operations. They also provide ready-to-install precision parts in large and small batch sizes. Machines in the PC series feature short setup, non-production and part production times. These machines are used by automobile manufacturers and suppliers, the fittings, pneumatics and hydraulics sector, as well as in the production of precision parts.

Schütte also offers their SCX multi-spindle automatic lathe that provides free speed selection and free falling chips. Extended machining options are available on its second workpiece side through exact transfer and three additional spindles. Expansion of its machining range is achieved through extended rear-side machining, including C-axis and Y-axis. Its multi-spindle production also provides users with a wide variety of workpiece geometries.
