Unparalleled Oxygen Burn-Out Safety and Pressure Control Accuracy for Welding Gas Mixtures

The 737LE-HD/S dome pressure regulator from Witt provides oxygen burn-out safety at pressures up to 2,900 psi for welding gas mixtures.

Posted: March 14, 2019

Ideal for pipework installation or for use as a manifold pressure regulator to DIN EN ISO 7291, the maximum inlet pressure for oxygen on the 737LE-HD/S dome pressure regulator set from Witt is 2,900 psi with an outlet pressure control range of 7.3 psi to 870 psi. A higher inlet pressure of up to 4,350 psi is also possible for other gases. This set comprises a pilot pressure regulator, a dome pressure regulator, manometer and fittings that comply with hazardous substance regulations.

Oxygen is considered a critical application for dome-pressure regulators because of the risk of burn-out from spontaneous ignition at high pressures. To address this problem, the 737LE-HD/S dome pressure regulator set from Witt Gas Controls LP (Roswell, GA) has been tested by the German Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM; Berlin, Germany) and proven to be oxygen burn-out safe at pressures up to 2,900 psi. Safety experts recommend this type of external testing performed by the BAM because it verifies manufacturer data using objective test procedures. “Users of our dome-loaded pressure regulators are guaranteed the maximum possible level of safety as well as operability,” stated Andrew Smart, the head of sales for gas safety devices at Witt. Besides oxygen, this powerful pressure regulator can also be used for other technical gases.

This publication defines materials suitable for oxygen service. This dome pressure regulator offers unparalleled pressure control accuracy for gas mixing systems, burners and other applications. They generate a constant working pressure that compensates for pressure fluctuations in the gas supply pressure and varying flow rates to allow maximum control of the downstream process.
