A loyalty program for band saw users by Simonds Saw (Fitchburg, MA) is being used to further engage and meet the needs of the next generation of sawing operations. By reaching out to their loyal band saw operators, Simonds gains greater understanding of the skills required by the next generation of users so that they can create high quality educational tools and develop innovative tools that speak specifically to their users’ needs. Twice a year, Simonds reaches out to the members of their SOB (Simonds Outstanding Blade) loyalty program to uncover the skills their users wish to acquire, understand the ways they learn best, and better recognize what types of innovative products best serve their needs. Members are incentivized to join with the promise of a quarterly free gift.
“This loyalty program is an effort to find new ways to continue to connect with our customers,” explains David Miles, the president of Simonds Saw. “With consistent customer touchpoints, this program will help us access the next generation of band saw operators and identify ways we can continue innovating in the metal cutting industry while putting our users first.” Information collected via end-user surveys furthers allow the company to hone in on future product development efforts and expand their product lines.
