In Booth B-8715, Gorbel® Inc. (Fishers, NY) will exhibit their Free Standing Work Station Crane that has been especially beneficial for Sellick Equipment Ltd. (Harrow, ON), a manufacturer of terrain forklifts whose productivity increased after installing these work station cranes: In their old facility, Sellick was faced with multiple restrictions, including height, ceiling restrictions and columns that populated the floor space with 15 ft centers. Very little movement was possible while assembling their products and they needed to utilize a fork truck for some of the processes. Their newly built facility opened up opportunities to improve the assembly processes. Two Free Standing Work Station Cranes were installed in the fabrication area to service the milling machines.
For the assembly line, an 8-bay Free Standing Work Station Crane system servicing 16 welding cells and a 140 ft Free Standing Work Station Crane was installed with four aluminum bridges – two 2 ton units and two 1 ton units. The assembly operators are pleased with these systems’ ease of use under the load and especially pleased that the load stays where it should, with no drift or slide in the aluminum bridge to make precision part placement easier.
