Bystronic Breaks Ground for Experience Center

Bystronic Inc. (Elgin, IL) conducted an official groundbreaking ceremony for their new advanced Experience Center and U.S. corporate headquarters, a 162,875 sq ft facility that will be located in the western Chicago suburb of Hoffman Estates, directly off of Interstate 90. The Experience Center will feature an advanced showroom where visitors can experience innovations first-hand, with an entire range of sheet metal processing systems: the latest technologies for laser cutting, integrated automation and storage, flexible bending, tube and profile processing, a software landscape that covers the entire sheet metal processing chain and smart services with customized ‘live’ demonstrations — all demonstrating how sheet metal products are manufactured in the age of advanced automation, digital networking, and intelligent services.

The new facility will feature a machine assembly area for laser and automation systems that will create and sustain local U.S. manufacturing jobs. The Experience Center will serve as the new hub for U.S. business operations, including sales, service, spare parts and the refurbishing of used machines. With the groundbreaking ceremony, the construction phase now begins and the new facility will be completed by the summer of 2019. Until then, the company will continue to operate from their Elgin facility.
