JETCAM International s.a.r.l. (Monaco) and Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (Tokyo, Japan) have announced a partnership by signing a developer agreement of LA-Module hardware with subsidiary company Mitsubishi Electric Mechatronics Software Corporation, whereby JETCAM will develop enhanced support for Mitsubishi’s range of CNC laser cutting machines.
JETCAM has already developed integration with LA-Module that simplifies selection of Mitsubishi cutting condition files. The LA-Module is made from LA CAM software as an engine of Mitsubishi laser machining experience, optimizing NC data for their CNC lasers and providing extremely accurate run-time estimations. JETCAM has postprocessors that can either generate NC data and interface with the LA-Module to obtain the machining time estimation, or XML path data which interfaces with the LA-Module to generate NC data and machining time estimation. Both posts can retrieve condition file data and other machine parameter information.
“This deal allows users to benefit from ‘best in class’ technology from CAD file to cut component,” said Martin Bailey, the general manager for JETCAM. “Utilizing our total automation and coupled with Mitsubishi’s renowned speed and quality, this allows shops to significantly reduce the time to generate NC code while ensuring the most accurate run-time estimation information for costing purposes.”
