SCHUNK, Inc. (Morrisville, NC) has promoted Matt Steele to director of sales for tooling and workholding. In his new role, he will work closely with his team to ensure sales strategies are executed for maximum growth, as well as develop strong working relationships with top management among end users and sales channels in the Midwest.

Steele has been employed in industrial sales for 24 years. The last eleven of those have been with SCHUNK USA as a regional sales manager and, most recently, as a senior regional sales manager. He personally covered Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota and the upper peninsula of Michigan, as well as mentored co-workers in Iowa, South Dakota, Nebraska, Missouri, Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Steele has a true passion for manufacturing and helping manufacturers be competitive in an ever changing industry. “Matt’s outstanding contributions and extensive experience has prepared him for this new role, and I’m excited to see his leadership drive growth forward in the Midwest,” said Bo Shomaker, the vice president of sales for tooling and workholding at SCHUNK.

In his new role, Steele will be instrumental in building and maintaining a team of regional sales managers and helping them be successful in their own missions of managing the opportunities in their own geographical territories. “It has been a true pleasure working for a worldwide, family-owned company that develops and manufactures superior products that guarantee maximum efficiency of machines and equipment,” noted Steele. “This has been a wonderful place to work and I look forward to this new opportunity to prove my ability to help others in the company be successful and reach their personal and professional goals.”
