Magnetic Drilling Units Deliver More Power, Versatility and Mobility on the Jobsite

Newly redesigned ICECUT 100 and 200 mag drills from Walter Surface Technologies guarantee productive drilling with almost no risk of motor overloading, overheating, or premature cutter breakage.

Posted: July 14, 2018

When mobility is key, the ICECUT 100 has a one-speed, 850 W motor that delivers 600 rpm at 8.5 amps. Integrated wiring eliminates obstructions when drilling or repositioning the unit. No wires mean no mishandling failures for convenience. Operators also appreciate the easy maintenance: direct access to the mag drill's carbon brushes make tune-ups simple and keep the powerful motor operating at maximum power.
When versatility and power are a must, the ICECUT 200 has a two-speed 1,200 W motor that delivers 300 rpm to 600 rpm at 12 amps and is ideal for a wide range of jobsite operations. The drilling unit’s steel sliding guard keeps operators safe: they can engage this safety feature for worry-free drilling, free of errant chips and lubricant splash.

Walter Surface Technologies, Inc. (Windsor, CT) has fully redesigned their ICECUT™ line of powerful, versatile and mobile magnetic drilling units and annular cutters. ICECUT 100 (22 lb) and ICECUT 200 (27 lb) mag drills are lightweight champs that punch above their weight. For shops that are looking for powerful, efficient drilling made safe and easy, their ACCUDRILL™ technology protects against overload, overheating and reduces cutter breakage risk. An ergonomic control panel eases operations with centralized controls that enable efficient drilling on either side of the unit. A mandrel support absorbs vibrations for stability and perfect centering, ensuring the motor and chuck are perfectly aligned. Operators get precise cutting with little chance of cutter damage.

The lightweight, ergonomic and smooth-grip handle makes unit positioning and drilling operations easy. These mag drills also feature a separate, quick-release and reversible handle for easy positioning in confined spaces. “Our newly redesigned ICECUT mag drills are mobile, lightweight and powerful enough for any job site,” explains Ryan Boyd, the product manager of tooling and power tools at Walter. “There’s a tremendous range of features that guarantee the most productive drilling system, and with our ACCUDRILL pressure guide, there is almost no risk of motor overloading, overheating, or premature cutter breakage.”

ICECUT’s integrated wiring eliminates obstructions when drilling or repositioning the unit. No wires mean no mishandling failures. “That’s convenience,” adds Boyd. The drilling unit’s steel sliding guard keeps operators safe, too. They can engage this safety feature for worry-free drilling, free of errant chips and lubricant splash. Operators will also appreciate the easy maintenance. Direct access to the mag drill’s carbon brushes make tune-ups simple and keep the powerful motor operating at maximum power.

When mobility is key, the ICECUT 100 has a one-speed, 850 W motor that delivers 600 rpm at 8.5 amps. When versatility and power are a must, the ICECUT 200 has a two-speed 1,200 W motor that delivers 300 rpm to 600 rpm at 12 amps and is ideal for a wide range of jobsite operations. What’s power without drilling speed? Walter’s latest core cutters are guaranteed to drill more holes faster. The redesigned annular cutters are toughened with a sophisticated mixture of high-speed steel and aluminum for longer life. More resistant to instant impact and stress when drilling under load, these annular cutters are less brittle and impervious to deformation.

“ICECUT is a simply a versatile, powerful and safe line of magnetic drilling units and annular cutters,” notes Boyd. “This is an ultimate core cutting system that helps users work better.” The ICECUT 100 and ICECUT 200 mag drills are now available.
