TRUMPF Expands Training Center
With this 18,000 sq ft expansion, they are now capable of training 5,000 students within 630 training events a year.

TRUMPF Inc. (Farmington, CT) has increased their training and education for precision sheet metal fabrication customers and employees in North America by increasing their training facility by 18,000 sq ft. The company is now able to offer classroom and “at the machine” instruction in a 40,000-sq ft, state-of-the art, training center. The total investment of the company’s training center expansion in Farmington, CT, exceeds $3 Million. With this expansion, they are now capable of training 5,000 students within 630 training events a year, which will be a significant increase from the 3,000 students that took part in training events just a year ago. The new training floor is equipped with 13 machines including tube lasers, material handling and material storage systems as well as laser, bending, and punching machinery. The center has 14 classrooms and 2 virtual learning classrooms. The company also offers an E-learning Specialist to teach online Machine Operator and Programming Training courses in the 2 new web pods.

The training center is the first, and only in the machine tool industry to achieve both certifications simultaneously. The company also offers a tuition covered, full-time paid apprenticeship program for aspiring employees and is certified to train veterans who have the opportunity to enroll in their training courses to earn continuing education units (CEUs) at no cost to them.
