ESAB Welding & Cutting Products (Annapolis Junction, MD) has donated $120,845 to Operation USA (Los Angeles), a 100 percent privately funded agency that has a four-star rating on Charity Navigator. Inspired by hurricane relief efforts, they made the donation based on fourth quarter sales of some of their highest volume equipment. Donations included $25 from each sale of ESAB Rebel™ 215ic and 235ic, $25 from sales of Thermal Dynamics Cutmaster 60i and $10 from Victor Journeyman and Victor EDGE™ products.

“The generosity of partners like ESAB make our relief and recovery work here in the U.S. and around the world possible,” said Richard Walden, the chief executive officer and president of Operation USA. “We are so grateful for their support as we work to deliver relief materials, fund recovery projects and facilitate long-term rebuilding efforts in the wake of events such as Hurricane Harvey in Texas. This generous donation will allow us to scale our work aiding the storm’s most vulnerable survivors in overlooked and under-served Texas communities. Thank you!”

With a path of destruction stretching for more than 300 miles, some 200,000 homes damaged and more than one million people displaced, Hurricane Harvey and the associated flooding caused record damage in Texas and Louisiana. Hurricane Irma caused further destruction in Florida and surrounding regions. Operation USA is a hands-on agency with a small, dedicated staff overseeing projects and disaster response work. Free of the bureaucracy and overhead of a larger organization, creative solutions allow them to respond to real needs in real time. Since 1979, they have worked in 100 countries, delivering over $400 million in aid for relief and development projects around the world.
