Bystronic Inc. (Elgin, IL) announced the full acquisition of their strategic partner TTM Laser S.p.A. (Cazzago San Martino, Italy), a successful Italian technology company that specializes in the development of 2D and 3D laser systems for the cutting of tubes and profiles, and for the welding of large-format metal sheets. Bystronic has significantly expanded their existing portfolio of sheet metal fabricating technologies recently, with new systems for automation, warehouse integration and digital networking.
Their development of a strategic partnership with TTM Laser in November 2017 and resulting positive feedback from existing customers has shown there is a strong demand for shops to be able to purchase all these systems from a single source. With this acquisition, Bystronic is expanding their existing portfolio for laser cutting with applications for tubes with diameters between 1/2 in to 32 in, and for profiles.
“With this merger, our customers are gaining access to a unique range of technologies and innovations for their sheet metal processing requirements,” said Alex Waser, the chief executive officer of Bystronic. “TTM Laser’s know-how and technology portfolio ideally complement our existing manufacturing systems with world-class technology for tube and profile processing. The goal of this takeover is to jointly push forward innovative manufacturing systems.”
