Apel International, Inc. (Apel Filters; Louisville, KY) plans to expand their facility at Bluegrass Commerce Park in Jeffersontown by adding 28,600 sq ft to what is currently a 74,000 sq ft building at 11201 Ampere Court, according to a development plan they filed recently with Louisville Metro Government. This project will also include additional parking and maneuvering areas. The filing indicates the new space will be used for warehousing and distribution.
The new $2 million warehouse will include high-tech automated storage and retrieval machines. According to Paul LaCroix, the chief executive officer, they will add more than 20 employees and a third shift after the completion of this project. Their business has about 75 employees now and expects that to grow to more than 100 by next year.
