Sheffer Corporation (Cincinnati, OH) welcomed President Donald Trump into their facility for a special visit on February 5. Touting his tax reform efforts, President Trump gave a speech at the company that earned recognition from the White House after they used a forthcoming tax break to provide each of their 126 employees with a $1,000 bonus. After arriving at their headquarters and production facility, the president received a tour of the premises prior to giving a speech before an audience of their employees, vendors and customers, as well as state and local officials.
“Our employees absolutely loved the event,” said Jeff Norris, the president and chief executive officer of Sheffer. “[President Trump] garnered much applause as he discussed the regulations and healthcare costs that burden today’s business owners.”
Founded by Harvey Sheffer in 1952, the company is a global leader in cylinder and actuator manufacturing. Their production processes are centered around more than a dozen machining centers from Mazak Corporation (Florence, KY), primarily INTEGREX advanced multi-tasking machines, with more on the way. “All of the manufacturing technology we acquire from them gives us the DONE IN ONE® part-processing capability that we need to remain competitive,” added Norris. On the length of their relationship with Mazak, he added, “It is quite long. Our oldest machine dates back to about 2003.”
