transfluid Expands Production Facilities

The new expansion will help them improve their product development operations and customer service.

Posted: January 13, 2018

transfluid has expanded their production facilities by 1,000 sq m for a new total floor area of 7,000 sq m. A high-bay store for spare parts was installed that provides quick turnarounds for service and makes production operations more dependable.
The building modification has equipped their Prototyping department with three times as much floor space as before. Here, machines are available to tackle the full range of reshaping processes, for diameters of 4 mm to 70 mm diameter. Also, in order to perform complete processes, there is a chipless orbital cutting system as well as corresponding CNC bending technology.

transfluid Maschinenbau GmbH (Schmallenberg, Germany) has expanded their production facilities by 1,000 sq m for a new total floor area of 7,000 sq m. As part of the building extension, a high-bay store for spare parts was installed that provides quick turnarounds for service and makes production operations more dependable. These new facilities have provided the company with immediate and future space for new and advanced systems development.

“This investment enables us to further improve further our product development for customers and our high-tech production operations,” explains Stefanie Flaeper, the chief executive officer of the company. “We now have many more resources available in terms of physical space – in particular for our t motion automation systems equipment – not just in relation to assembly work, but also for test runs and commissioning runs. There is now also scope for implementing pre-series for our customers to further guarantee and evaluate our production process before the equipment is shipped from the plant.”

The additional space of this expansion will also benefit their in-hour Prototyping department. The building modification has equipped the department with three times as much floor space as before. Here, machines are available to tackle the full range of reshaping processes, for diameters of 4 mm to 70 mm diameter. Also, in order to perform complete processes, there is a chipless orbital cutting system as well as corresponding CNC bending technology.

“To ensure that modified processes perform to specifications, we have offered our customers intensive prototyping for many years,” noted Flaeper. “For example, when tube connections must be welded or soldered and the parts are replaced by geometric end forming operations, the new components frequently need to be tested and installed prior to any final changeover. On this type of work, we partner very closely with our customers. If all of the steps can be performed here, they are able to gain an overview of the processes involved much better, which gives them a great deal more peace of mind.”
