MFG.com (Marietta, GA), one of the world’s largest online manufacturing marketplaces, announced the launch of a new and improved RFQ form that has been reformatted specifically with marketplace users in mind. Buyers will find a more user-friendly, efficient experience, and suppliers will find RFQs released quicker to the marketplace. “Our mission is to make it easy for buyers and suppliers to discover each other,” said Lena Owen, the director of customer service at MFG.com.
Step-by-step instructions in the form of a “handy how-to guide” were distributed to the entire buy-side universe to ensure ease of use when using the enhanced RFQ form. Buyers will be able to find these new improvements when using the form:
- One ‘Create RFQ’ form for Single- or Multi-Line RFQs.
- Ability to add parts to RFQs from multiple disciplines.
- Improved, cleaner design.
- Look-up and add parts more efficiently from the Parts Library.
- Drag-and-drop feature for adding attachments and prints.
- Change edit NDAs during RFQ creation.
“The new drag-and-drop option for adding documents and drawings makes it much easier to minimize the time to post and have your RFQ’s released,” noted Kevin Witherspoon, a senior sourcing advisor at MFG.com. The new RFQ form, launched in December of 2017, represents one more element in an ongoing effort to support continued ease of use of the platform. The updated form will further enable buyers to reduce part cost, time to market, and supplier risk.
