TRUMPF Inc. (Farmington, CT) announced a new limited sales partnership with SPI Lasers Ltd. (Southampton, UK) that is being established to provide their customers with the ideal laser material processing systems across select North American market segments. They will provide the most strategically complementary SPI Lasers equipment directly through their North American OEM sales group into a variety of select markets, including automotive, e-mobility, battery and consumer electronics.
This partnership will offer users with the benefit of enhanced capabilities via SPI’s robust and proven fiber lasers, placing their application needs at the forefront with optimized laser material processing systems at higher single mode powers than TruFiber, and unique pulse energies and lengths compared to TruPulse and TruMicro. SPI provides cost-optimized systems through flexible levels of integration for users who do not need the full range of features available with TruControl and other enabling technologies. Laser products that will be available through the North American sales group include redENERGY® pulsed and redPOWERQUBE® CW fiber lasers for high speed and innovative remote processing.
A wholly-owned subsidiary of the TRUMPF Group since October 2008, SPI Lasers operates as a commercially distinct brand. This partnership provides them with a mature sales network in the North American market. Their existing customers that compete with TRUMPF at the machine system level will continue to work exclusively with them.
