TRUMPF Inc. (Farmington, CT) and A3DM Technologies (Burlington, VT) have entered a collaboration agreement to develop specialty metal powders and laser parameters. As part of this agreement, A3DM will have a TruPrint 1000 system installed at their research facility in Burlington. With several parameters and cylinder sizes to choose from, it is perfectly suited for material and parameter development. “The TruPrint 1000 is a compact, high precision powder bed system that offers flexibility and performance with the robustness and high quality that users need,” said Ralf Kimmel, the general manager of the TRUMPF Laser Technology Center.
“We welcome the opportunity to collaborate with them in the development of operating parameters for our refractory and precious metal powders,” added Steven Adler, the chief executive officer of A3DM. “The TruPrint 1000 platform will allow us the flexibility to perfect a broad range of materials, while providing a stable path for our future needs in larger AM production systems.”
