Designed for hassle-free longevity, HydroShield is permanently bonded to the lens, requires no application and no maintenance, and remains effective for more than 25 washings. It’s available on a wide variety of lens tints to protect from harmful light hazards and in ballistic impact protection models for use among high-impact hazards.

Outfitting part-time workers with safety eyewear that delivers broad protective coverage, all-day comfort and modern style, all at a great value, is a challenge among safety managers. To simplify the process, Honeywell Industrial Safety (Smithfield, RI) offers Uvex SVP 200, 300 and 400 Series safety eyewear that delivers ample 9-base or 10-base coverage, streamlined styling, and lightweight comfort. “Across metalworking, shops need affordable yet reliable eye protection that fits today’s extremely diverse population and is cost effective for a large part-time workforce,” said Wanda Sanchez-Miller, a senior product marketing manager for Honeywell Industrial Safety. “This SVP Series addresses the widespread need for value eyewear systems that deliver comfortable protection and style to the modern workforce, making the selection process simple for safety managers.”

With a low-profile, frameless design, the Uvex SVP 200 Series features a 10-base wraparound lens for optimum coverage and weighs only 15 grams. Its molded nose piece and flexible temple tips ensure a comfortable, secure fit. The style is available in five colors: clear, gray, amber, blue, and pink. Its polycarbonate lens is available in 5 tints and Uvextra® anti-fog hardcoat is optional for extended fog-free, scratch-free performance. The Uvex SVP 200 Series is dielectric and meets ANSI Z87.1 and CSA Z94.3 certification.

The Uvex SVP 300 Series features a generous 10-base wraparound polycarbonate unilens and a bold, full-frame look. Flexible at the bone and tendon, its dual-material temples deliver customized comfort and a non-slip fit. Lenses and temples are available in clear or gray. Uvextra anti-fog hardcoat is optional. The Uvex SVP 300 Series is dielectric and meets ANSI Z87.1 certification.

The Uvex SVP 400 Series delivers ample 9-base, wraparound coverage in a stylized, frameless design. Dual-material rubber temples and cushioned nose bridge ensure a comfortable, non-slip fit. Four lens tints meet the needs of both indoor and outdoor applications and temples are available in clear or gray. The ANSI Z87.1-certified style is available with Uvextra anti-fog hardcoat to extend lens life.

Honeywell has also expanded the availability of their Uvex HydroShield anti-fog lens coating – an industry leading anti-fog and scratch resistance technology – to their Uvex Seismic and North Adaptec safety eyewear styles so that workers can now enjoy a safe, fog-free, scratch-free view from every type of Uvex eye protection, including more than 115 types of safety spectacles, sealed eyewear, goggles and OTGs. “Fogging lenses are almost impossible to avoid – and when workers can’t see clearly, they’re not safe,” noted Sanchez-Miller. “By making HydroShield available across all eye protection types, workers everywhere can have the long lasting, reliable, fog-free vision they need.”

Uvex HydroShield eliminates fogging 90X longer* than the majority of other anti-fog products and delivers 2X greater scratch resistance** than the next-best Uvex anti-fog coating.

Uvex HydroShield significantly exceeds the European EN166 standard, the most stringent anti-fog standard in the world. All HydroShield anti-fog coated products meet ANSI Z87.1-2015 and are certified to the requirements of the CSA Z94.3 standards, except Hypershock. Genesis, Genesis XC and Protégé eyewear, which also meet the military ballistic impact resistance requirements for eyewear (MIL-PRF-31013, CLAUSE 3.5.1.1). All Uvex lenses offer 99.9 percent ultraviolet protection.

* Uvex HydroShield performance is based on independent lab tests when compared to median test results of other Uvex anti-fog coated products under the EN166 and EN168 testing standards.

** Comparative lens life test performed using a Bayer Abrasion Test method and may vary between environment and application.
