Resistance Welding Systems for High Strength Steel and Aluminum

The Flexwave Capacitor Discharge Welder, the NDZ-CDW variable-output Capacitor Discharge Welder, and the High Force Lightweight Reduction Gear X-Gun from Dengensha America are all specially created to maximize quality, minimize heat transfer and eliminate heat distortion when welding high strength steel and aluminum.

Booth B27049: Ideal for making larger or special welds on high strength steel and aluminum, the redesigned Flexwave Capacitor Discharge Welder from Dengensha America has a smaller footprint that combines CDW capabilities with a 15,000 Hz Bipolar Medium Frequency Converter. Flexwave technology produces better quality parts, optimum weld nugget quality, easier to set weld parameters and energy savings through direct current configuration of weld current values and maximized waveform flexibility for parameter settings such as tempering, demagnetization, upslope, etc.
Booth B27049: Ideal for welding small projection parts on high strength steel, the compact NDZ-CDW variable-output Capacitor Discharge Welder from Dengensha America is cost efficient, easy and intuitive to set up, and readily available off-the-shelf. It easily handles weld current as high as 50 kA with only a small 6 kVA power supply. Its high current in short bursts minimizes heat transfer and workpiece distortion, even when the power supply is unstable.
Booth B27049: Extremely effective for production efficiency in high strength steel applications using FANUC, Nachi, Yaskawa, Kawasaki, KUKA and ABB robots with small footprints, the new High Force Lightweight Reduction Gear X-Gun from Dengensha America is lighter in weight, with a smaller frame and a new high torque reduction gear. It operates seamlessly with their newly developed, heavy duty lightweight MFDC transformer and is capable of an electrode force ranging from 4.8 kN to 7 kN.

In Booth B27049, Dengensha America Corporation (Bedford, OH) will be featuring resistance welding systems that are specially created for high strength steel and aluminum, including two resistance welder systems that maximize quality, minimize heat transfer and eliminate heat distortion on high strength steel and aluminum, and a new lightweight high-force reduction gear X-gun that is also extremely effective on high strength steel. Their Flexwave Capacitor Discharge Welder combines the benefits of a CDW with an MFDC Welder, providing unique and enhanced capabilities for making larger or special welds. Their NDZ-CDW variable-output Capacitor Discharge Welder is ideal for smaller projection welds.

Making a debut at the show is their newly redesigned, shorter and more compact Flexwave Welder with a smaller footprint that uses much less floor space. It combines the capabilities of a Capacitor Discharge Welder (CDW) with a 15,000 Hz Bipolar Medium Frequency Converter (MFC). This system produces better quality parts, optimum weld nugget quality, weld parameters that are easier to set, and energy savings. Flexwave technology provides direct current configuration of weld current values, making it easier to set parameters. This technology also maximizes waveform flexibility to allow necessary parameter settings such as tempering, demagnetization, upslope, etc. The Flexwave Welder series includes the NICP-050, NICP-100, and NICP-150 models that have a maximum weld current of 50,000 amps, 100,000 amps, and 150,000 amps, respectively.

The NDZ-CDW variable-output Capacitor Discharge Welder is compact and cost efficient, easy and intuitive to set up, and readily available off-the-shelf. It offers manufacturers numerous features to help maximize part quality and easily handles weld current as high as 50 kA, yet requires only a small 6 kVA power supply. Its high current in short bursts minimizes heat transfer and workpiece distortion, even when the power supply is unstable. Along with offering shops a broad range of part production opportunities and potential, the NDZ-CDW is ideal for welding small projection parts on high strength steel.

The new High Force Lightweight Reduction Gear X-Gun is also extremely effective for high strength steel applications. Lighter in weight and having a smaller frame, users can count on production efficiency. With its new high torque reduction gear, this gun is capable of an electrode force ranging from 4.8 kN to 7 kN. The new lightweight design integrates a new structure, an optimal layout of primary parts, and a gun arm made from aluminum, all combining to achieve a total weight that is much lighter, ranging from 90 kg to 97 kg. This same proprietary design enables the Reduction Gear X-Gun to operate seamlessly with the newly developed, heavy duty lightweight MFDC transformer. Users can count on a maintenance-free reduction gear drive unit that is adaptable with a high speed servomotor. The Lightweight High Force Reduction Gear X-Gun is compatible with FANUC, Nachi, Yaskawa, Kawasaki, KUKA and ABB robots that have a small footprint.
