Move Abrasive, Oily Ferrous Chips and Parts with No Jammed Belts or Clean-Out Maintenance

MagSlide Beltless Chip and Parts Conveyors from Bunting Magnetics use ceramic or rare earth magnets hidden beneath a stainless steel slider bed to move metal along the surface. There are no external conveyor belts to jam, tear or wear out, or external moving parts to fail, compromising safety and productivity.

Booth A5633: Bunting Magnetics has lowered prices on their line of MagLift Magnetic Lifters by an average of 30 percent, depending on the model. Magnetic Lifters are available to lift and hold 275 lb to 4,400 lb and have additional safety features. With a 3:1 ratio, they can move 3X their weight rating and a mechanical safety switch prevents them from disengaging accidentally.

In Booth A5633, Bunting® Magnetics Company (Newton, KS) will showcase their MagSlide® Beltless Chip and Parts Conveyor. Materials that punish traditional belted and steel-hinged conveyors – dirty, oily parts as well as sharp, jagged scrap and other abrasive materials – are easily and effectively transported with the MagSlide. Instead of relying on a moving belt to carry ferrous scrap, it enlists moving high-energy ceramic or rare earth magnets hidden beneath a stainless steel slider bed to move the metal along the surface. “Before this system, machine shops and other metalworking operations had no effective way to move their ferrous chips, scrap, parts or shavings from their lathes, mills or stamping presses,” noted Don Suderman, the product manager for material handling at Bunting Magnetics. “Even moving high volume loads, this machine is a compelling, trouble-free, labor-free, virtually maintenance-free solution.”

The most attractive features of this ruggedly constructed conveyor are those the operator can’t even see: There are no external conveyor belts to jam, tear or wear out, or external moving parts to fail, compromising safety and productivity. Except for the motor, all moving parts are total enclosed. Twin roller-drive chains hold and move the magnets while travelling in the exclusive oil-impregnated SlideTrack™ Channel, which provides constant lubrication to help minimize maintenance, friction, chain wear and noise. Models include straight horizontal, horizontal-to-incline and a nose-over style for extending over scrap dumpsters. If space is an issue, low-profile units and mobile-base units are also provided. The machine is available at widths up to 36 in.

Bunting Magnetics has also lowered prices on their line of MagLift™ Magnetic Lifters by an average of 30 percent, depending on the model. Most prices on these magnetic products are now the lowest in the industry. These Magnetic Lifters are sold through the company’s Magnet Materials Division and its e-commerce website, BuyMagnets.com, which has over 4,000 products in the largest online selection of magnets and magnetic products. “Lowering pricing and then offering free shipping on our magnetic lifters proves we are putting customers first, making it easier, quicker and less expensive to get the equipment they need to run their operation,” stated Robert Bunting Jr., the general manager of the Magnet Materials Division.

Permanent Magnetic Lifters are powered by blocks of high-energy neodymium magnetic material. Switching the magnet on/off is achieved by making one of these blocks reversible. In the “on” position, the reversible block is in parallel with the static blocks so that a concentrated magnetic field is produced at the pole feet for lifting. In the “off” position, the reversible block is rotated through 180 degrees to provide a total magnetic short circuit within the lifter body. “Permanent magnets and manual switching means no operating costs, no more struggles to attach heavy or awkward loads and no more worries about the stability of the load once it’s lifted,” added Bunting. Magnetic Lifters are available to lift and hold 275 lb to 4,400 lb and have additional safety features. With a 3:1 ratio, the lifters can move 3X their weight rating and a mechanical safety switch prevents them from disengaging accidentally.
