On September 13, 2017, CNC Software, Inc. (Tolland, CT) hosted a Women in Manufacturing Lunch & Learn panel discussion and tour of their corporate office in Tolland as part of the national Women in Manufacturing Summit that was held in Hartford, CT, on September 13-15. Women from across the country were able to see where Mastercam CAD/CAM software is created and learned how it is used by thousands of companies worldwide to manufacture products.
Meghan West, the president of CNC Software, gave a presentation, then attendees toured the Manufacturing Lab (machine shop), where application engineers test out software toolpaths. They saw parts being cut and learned how automated software solves production and manufacturing issues. The tour of the corporate headquarters included the museum and a glimpse at environmental practices that are being used to lessen the company’s impact on the environment.
During the panel discussion, participants networked with industry peers and shared leadership, experiences, and knowledge that is shaping the future of manufacturing today. The panel consisted of company employees, women business owners in the industry, as well as State Representative Liz Linehan of Connecticut .
