Cy-Laser SRL (Schio, Italy) has been a global leader in fiber optic laser systems for metal cutting since 2004. Their North American subsidiary, Cy-Laser America LLC (Sterling Heights, MI), continues to experience business growth in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Several recent strategic changes capitalize on these successes.
Most notable was the naming of Massimo Denipoti as the president of Cy-Laser America. In making the announcement, Federico Campana, the head of the parent organization in Italy, stated, “His many years of experience in bringing Italian machine tool companies to North America is a big asset for us. In addition to his duties as the company president, he leads the sales management team and is also a partner in Venture Systems (Geneva IL), a business unit of Venture USA, the import and distribution company that helped us and several other Italian companies establish a presence in North America.”
Concurrent with his appointment, Cy-Laser America shifted its North American headquarters to Sterling Heights from their previous site in Geneva, IL. “Operating from the Sterling Heights facility gives us the advantage of an on-site demonstration and technical center, plus more space for our growing business,” said Denipoti, in response to the relocation. “This increased capacity now lets us show customers more rapidly how our products are on the cutting edge of performance as we continue to pioneer the use of precise, robust fiber laser systems.” The Geneva location continues to provide new machines sales support.
In other staff moves:
- Geff Smith was promoted to service and support manager. He brings more than 25 years’ experience in the laser industry to the position, including nearly a decade with the company.
- Melissa Reynolds joined Cy-Laser America as a customer service manager. Previously, she assisted with estimating, human resources and administration for a prototype and production stamping company.
“We’re confident these changes position us to better serve our customers as we expand the use of this exciting technology,” added Denipoti. “We offer the world’s most advanced fiber optic lasers, delivering reliability, flexibility and productivity across multiple industrial sectors.”
