Mazak Optonics Corporation (Elgin, IL) has announced the promotion of Al Bohlen as their president of their North American operations. He has served as their vice president and general manager since 2013. This appointment reflects his record of leadership and the results achieved throughout his tenure. He has been a key driver in elevating sales performance and increasing the market share of the company since his arrival in 2011.
Tomohisa Yamazaki, the president and chief executive officer of Yamazaki Mazak, made the appointment to better position the company for future growth and to continue the momentum of the last few years. The launch of their new Direct Diode Laser technology and laser machine manufacturing operations at their Florence, KY, campus makes this an important time for the company, and his depth of technical experience should help strengthen Mazak’s position in this evolving market. “All of us are pleased with the appointment of Al Bohlen to the president of Optonics for North America. He has done an excellent job of leading our growth in laser machine sales and been a strong advocate of the future advancement of laser technology within our corporation,” said Brian Papke, a board member of Mazak Optonics.
Prior to becoming the vice president and general manager, Bohlen was the national sales manager responsible for the sales operation and distribution network. He has extensive industry experience with major fabrication equipment manufacturers in a variety of technical and sales roles since 1986.
