Affolter Technologies SA (Malleray, Switzerland), a technology and world market leader in micro gear hobbing centers for micromechanical applications, offers their robust AF110 gear hobbing center that sets a benchmark in flexibility, high precision and stiffness. This compact machine is tailored to the needs of dental and medical equipment. The AF110 has a clamping force of 1,000 newton, increased torque and stiffness of the spindles, a more robust Y-axis and only one clamping axis that moves to optimize overall rigidity and minimize vibration. Its compact design (960 mm x 1,210 mm x 1,815 mm) and improved rigidity are key features that guarantee short cycle times and highest efficiency.

The 12-axis AF110 is equipped with the user friendly, internally-developed Leste CNC control that makes communication with the micro gear hobbing center easy and quick. This machine complements the existing GEAR product line by processing larger parts with diameters up to 40 mm, a module of up to 1.0 mm, a maximum machining length of 90 mm, and maximum spindle rotation speed of 12,000 rpm. With its optional add-on Unit 90, the AF110 can perform worm milling operations after a quick changeover, making it one of the most flexible machines for gear cutting and worm milling on the market. The distributor for Affolter Technologies in the United States, Canada and Mexico is Parker Industries Inc. (Bohemia, NY).
