Sko-Die, Inc. (Morton Grove, IL), a leading manufacturer of custom steel laminations and heavy gauge metal stampings, has acquired the fineblanking and metal stamping business of Harig Manufacturing Corporation (Niles, IL), a manufacturer of precision parts for the automotive, appliance, power tool, aerospace, and controls industries.

“When the opportunity arose to add the Harig stamping business to our company, we recognized this as an opportunity to expand our commitment to our core manufacturing business, to carry forward their commitment to their customers and to bring this expanded capability to all of our valued customers,” stated Patrick Steininger, the president of Sko-Die, when making the announcement. “This will also enable us to expand and diversify the manufacturing industry segments that we currently serve. We welcome Harig’s customers as they join our valued customer base.”

Harig’s fineblanking and metal stamping operations have now been incorporated into the Sko-Die facility in Morton Grove. The equipment now installed includes four Feintool fineblanking presses, two 160 ton and two 250 ton presses. These presses are capable of running parts from .060 in thick up to .375 in thick, including circular parts up to 5 in OD and straight parts of up to 8 in long. Two deburring systems have also been moved into the facility and two of Harig’s experienced operators have joined their staff.

Founded in 1947, Sko-Die provides quality tool and die, metal stamping and OEM outsourced manufacturing services. They serve the aerospace, power generation, industrial, medical, food and energy markets.
