Dimplex Restructures Management
Seán O’Driscoll is now the president of a new management team.

The Glen Dimplex Group (Dublin, Ireland) of companies, which includes Dimplex, Koolant Kooler and Reidel brand cooling systems used in metal manufacturing operations, announced the appointment of Seán O’Driscoll as the president of the group. Fergal Naughton succeeds him as the chief executive officer and Michael Maher becomes the new chief operating officer. Martin McCourt, formerly of Dyson, joins as the non-executive chairman, and Neil Naughton will be the deputy chairman.
“I believe it is necessary to change the structure of our Group in order to drive our long-term profitable growth and success, but let us work together to make our companies even more exceptional,” explained Martin Naughton to the company staff. “I am also delighted that Martin McCourt has agreed to join us as the non-executive chairman after steering Dyson to international success for 15 years. Finally, I am stepping down from the executive board – but I may visit from time to time.”
A new shareholder supervisory board has been formed and this will provide clear strategic counsel and direction to the executive board with specific medium to long-term performance objectives. The current members of the board now include:

- Simon Hodges (vice-chairman);
- Fiona Naughton
- Neil Naughton
- Fergal Naughton
- Chris Cole
- Andrew Griffiths
- Joe Menendez
- Lochlann Quinn
Martin Naughton founded Glen Electric in 1973, and in 1977 he acquired Dimplex to form the Glen Dimplex Group, which is now one of the world’s largest manufacturers of electrical heating systems and also holds significant global market positions in domestic appliances, cooling and ventilation as Ireland’s largest privately-owned manufacturing business.
