Quality demands on modern cutting tools are constantly increasing due to the arrival of new high-tech materials and hence adapted machining strategies. Even with standard tools, extremely tight tolerances are common place. These high standards can only be achieved through the interplay of the latest technology. When grinding micro to large diameter tools each parameter must be perfectly coordinated between the grinding machine, grinding wheels, software and fine filtration. And to top it off, the process must economical.
To ensure high production and quality levels in minimal floor space, Oelheld U.S., Inc. (Elgin, IL) distributes compact, powerful Vomat filtration systems that can be configured to provide for stand-alone or for plant-wide solutions. These systems can easily integrate into any shop’s specific production processes and requirements. Their low-maintenance technology ensures energy-efficient full flow filtration that separates clean and dirty oil 100 percent. New pre-coat filter cartridges efficiently extract the smallest of particles, so that the filtered oil retains NAS 7 quality (3 to 5 microns) for quite some time. Another advantage Vomat systems offer is their energy efficiency. They filter and backwash only when their sensors signal a significant accumulation of sludge particles. This ensures a continuous clean oil supply and extends the life of the filters and grinding oil remaining in the system.
Vomat systems provide extreme accuracy and precise temperature control of the grinding oil in the range of ± 0.1 K, an important prerequisite for reliable production with reproducible results. Pre-coat filtration systems don’t require any filtration aids which usually render the contaminated sludge as non- sell-able. The recycling process is fully automatic. The sludge is deposited into a drum and ready to be collected by a recycling company of your choice. All Vomat systems are PLC controlled and can be serviced and monitored remotely, via wifi connection. Using these fine filtration systems, tool grinders can realize long service life of their cutting tools, high quality of their produced drills and routers, as well as process reliability and operational stability of their entire manufacturing system. Vomat systems also help to conserve energy, minimize drag-out and reduce cooling lubricant cost.
