Matrix Design, LLC (South Elgin, IL) has announced the opening of an additional production facility at 1635 Shanahan Drive in South Elgin. The 17,000 sq ft building will more than double capacity, enabling more robotic systems to be built and powered concurrently. “Having this new space a few steps away from our main plant will enable our engineers, builders, and applications team to remain closely knit as product flows through operations,” said Jack Chiappe, the production manager.

“As the demand for automation continues to grow at such a rapid pace, this new capacity gives us the ability to better serve our customers by reducing lead times for future projects. We are also looking forward to the new opportunities the additional space will allow,” said Jeff Bennett, the vice president of sales and marketing.

Matrix Design develops, builds and installs robotic automation systems and services to factories worldwide. An authorized FANUC robot integrator (ASI) and recently certified as an RIA certified robot integrator, they are a leader in supplying standard and custom robotic material handling systems including machine tending (machine tool loading/unloading), part/tray exchange, inspection, palletizing, and robotic deburring systems.
