COE Press Equipment Corporation (Sterling Heights, MI), announced that it has recently shipped two press feeding lines to the San Antonio, TX, stamping plant of Takata Corporation (Tokyo, Japan), a supplier of air bags, seatbelts and other automotive components. Each of the lines is comprised of an 18 in ServoMaster™ 3 Series roll feed; a style 350, 18 in power straightener; a COE 24 in, 15,000 lb capacity coil reel; and an 18 in x 18 in threading table. The lines can achieve speeds of up to 367 fpm and handle steel with 50,000 psi yield in widths from 0.020 in to 18 in thick, depending upon the coil width.
Additional features of the lines include an alligator peeler-dekinker station, an automatic lubrication system and ultrasonic variable speed loop control. These lines are replacing existing competitor equipment and will be paired with new AIDA press lines that Takata is installing. The orders also include COE installation, start-up and training assistance. Takata has five other COE press lines at this same location.
