The new Square Wave® TIG 200 welding machine from The Lincoln Electric Company (Cleveland, OH) offers a multi-process TIG and stick welding experience for craftsmen, small shop fabricators, motorsports enthusiasts and hobbyists. Users can perform AC TIG welding on aluminum and DC TIG welding on steel, stainless and chrome-moly when precision and bead appearance are important. They can also switch to stick welding when working with thicker materials or welding outdoors. The Square Wave TIG 200 combines an easy-to-use interface for fast set up with built-in advanced features. A pulsed TIG feature provides a drumbeat-like rhythm for filler metal deposition, making you a better welder – faster. AC frequency control allows users to adjust the machine for a wider or more narrow arc profile when TIG welding on aluminum. Adjustable AC balance provides more cleaning action on aged aluminum and helps maximize penetration on thicker aluminum materials.

The Square Wave TIG 200 truly allows you to Take it Everywhere, Plug in Anywhere™. Portable and convenient to use, the machine plugs into standard 120V or 230V input circuits and weighs only 46 lb (21 kg). The TIG output range is 10 amps to 200 amps when operating on 230V input, and 10 amps to 125 amps when operating on 120V input. The stick output range is 10 amps to 170 amps when operating on 230V input, and 10 amps to 90 amps when operating on 120V input. Included with the machine is just about everything a user needs to get started:

  • PTA-17 Series, 150-amp, air-cooled TIG torch with flexible head and Ultra-Flex™ cable assembly and TIG torch parts
  • Foot Amptrol™
  • Regulator/flowmeter with gas hose
  • Stick electrode holder
  • Ground clamp
  • 120/230V input cables

Lincoln Electric also offers the White Tail Camo™ Ranger® 250 GXT engine-driven welder to contractors for the features they need for construction and maintenance work, plus a new, eye-catching, white tail camouflage graphics wrap. This is the first commercially available engine-driven welder from a major manufacturer to feature not only a graphic wrap treatment, but also a camouflage design that is a popular choice among hunters and tradesmen across the country. A VIKING™ 3350 Series White Tail Camo auto-darkening welding helmet with a matching camo graphic pattern is also available.

The Ranger 250 GXT delivers plenty of welding power with 250 amps for AC or DC stick and DC wire welding, including TIG, MIG and flux-cored options. It is rated 250 amps/25 volts for AC, DC and CV. All outputs are rated at 100 percent duty cycle 104 deg F (40 deg C). With AC generator power at up to 10,000 watts continuous, the machine produces enough single-phase AC power for lights, grinders, pumps and other equipment. Its fully enclosed case offers both quiet operation and exceptional protection for the 23 hp Kohler® gasoline engine. A 12 gal fuel tank keeps refueling stops to a minimum.

Lincoln Electric also offers the new Flextec® 500 multi-process welder that delivers up to 500 amps of inverter welding power with quick-and-easy setup and operation. Designed with harsh operating conditions in mind, it holds up to the rigors of tough environments, such as construction, fabrication, shipbuilding and other heavy-duty applications. Broadly compatible with a variety of wire-feeder types, including analog, digital and across the arc, the Flextec 500 delivers premium, multi-process arc characteristics for stick, DC TIG, MIG, flux-cored and arc gouging. The machine’s streamlined operator control panel reduces setup time, simplifying process selection.

With an output range of 5 amps to 500 amps, the Flextec 500 is rated at 450 amps, 38 volts at 100 percent duty cycle or 500 amps, 40 volts at 60 percent duty cycle. Despite the substantial welding output, this compact new model weighs in at only 125 lb (56.7 kg). Flexible input power capability allows the welder to run on 380 volt through 600 volt, three-phase input power. Fully encapsulated electronics are environmentally protected in this IP23-rated welder. The unit’s internal components are designed and tested to run cool for long life in high-temperature environments. Also available is the Flextec 500P that delivers up to 500 amps of inverter-based pulse welding for applications where precise heat input control is critical.

Lincoln Electric has also released its annual Welding & Cutting Solutions 2016 Equipment Catalog, an updated version that includes over 80 pages of new products, content and features an updated, easy-to-navigate format, with detailed specifications close at hand to help customers choose the right welding and cutting products for their applications. The printed version of the catalog will be available in early January at over 3,500 distributor locations throughout North America. To find a distributor near you please click here.

The new catalog can also be found online here and will soon be available on the company’s mobile literature app, the Lincoln Library, which can be downloaded to tablets from Google® Play and Apple® App stores. The tablet version of the catalog will be updated with new products as they are introduced and will be enhanced with rich media content throughout the year.

Lincoln Electric has enhanced its next-generation Miniflex weld fume control system. Created for the welder on the go, the Miniflex removes and filters welding fumes wherever welding operators go, including confined and other hard-to-reach spaces. Unlike other, bulkier welding fume extractors, the Miniflex is unique with its standard wheels, handle, and lightweight, synthetic materials. It offers a dual-filtration system made up of a primary LongLife®-H filter and a HEPA output filter. The redesigned Miniflex also includes two new key features:

  • Carbon Brush Early Warning System – Alerts the user when 80 percent of the carbon brushes have been consumed.
  • System Airflow Check – Allows users to check the extraction performance of the unit and indicates when a filter is saturated and requires replacement to maintain optimal performance.
