Breakthrough Flexwave Welder Capacitor Discharge Technology

Flexwave Resistance Welder and corresponding flexible waveform technology from Dengensha America produces better quality parts, optimum weld nugget quality, weld parameters that are easier to set, and energy savings.

Flexwave Welders and technology combine the capabilities and benefits of a Capacitive Discharge Welder (CDW) and a 15,000 Hz Bipolar Medium Frequency Converter (MFC) to provide a direct current configuration of weld current values for easy setting of parameters. They also maximize waveform flexibility to allow necessary parameter settings, such as tempering, demagnetization, upslope, etc. and provide users of single-phase AC welders the option of replacing their existing controller unit with a Flexwave Welder controller, which enables a shop to use it as a Flexwave welder as well.

Dengensha America Corporation (Bedford, OH) recently introduced its new Flexwave Resistance Welder and corresponding flexible waveform technology, which combines the capabilities of a Capacitive Discharge Welder (CDW) and a 15000 Hz Bipolar Medium Frequency Converter (MFC). Better quality parts, optimum weld nugget quality, weld parameters that are easier to set, and energy savings are just a few of the many benefits.

Flexwave welders and technology combine the capabilities and benefits of a Capacitive Discharge Welder (CDW) and a 15,000 Hz Bipolar Medium Frequency Converter (MFC). Better quality parts are provided because less thermal distortion and larger currents in shorter weld times are combined with the stability of a medium frequency converter. Better management of current flow provideoptimum weld quality and weld nugget quality, while also generating energy savings as a welcome by-product.

This technology provides direct current configuration of weld current values which makes it easier to set parameters. The technology also maximizes waveform flexibility, which allows necessary parameter settings such as tempering, demagnetization, upslope, etc. Flexwave waveform flexiblity also provides users of single-phase AC welders the option of replacing their existing controller unit with a Flexwave Welder controller, which enables customer to use it as a Flexwave welder as well.

The new Flexwave Welder Series includes the NICP-050, the NICP-100, and the NICP-150, with maximum weld currents of 50,000, 100,000, and150,000 amps respectively.
