Thermal Dynamics® Automation, an ESAB (Florence, SC) brand, offers their next-generation iCNC® Performance control that enables users to build full-featured plasma systems that deliver professional performance at an affordable price. The thin panel mount unit (16.1 in x 19.4 in x 2.9 in) features a 15 in touch screen, controls for plasma, oxy-fuel and auxiliary functions, built-in WiFi, programmable I/O (16 In, 20 Out), 3-axis drive outputs and three encoder inputs. For a system that works seamlessly together, add the optional built-in torch height control (iHC) and optional servo motors with built-in amplifiers. With the iCNC Performance, all process databases are built in to the system. “The iCNC Performance improves operation cost, optimizes cut quality and virtually eliminates operator errors. No other controller on the market can match its combination of performance and value,” said Dirk Ott, the vice president for global plasma automation at Thermal Dynamics.

Thermal Dynamics Automation also offers Ultra-Cut® XT high precision plasma power sources with the new ScrapCutter option. All of the Ultra-Cut XT units, available in 100 amp to 400 amp outputs for automated plasma cutting, now come with a new ScrapCutter option: the ability to connect a manual 1Torch® directly to the front of the unit for plasma cutting of plate skeletons to simplify scrap removal. The ScrapCutter option provides a constant 100 amp output and torch lengths of up to 100 ft are possible. A fold back circuit automatically reduces the output to 45 amps if the tip accidentally touches the plate, which improves parts life.
