TCI Precision Metals Installs Duplex Milling System

They use a new Amada THV430 to produce precision Machine-Ready Blanks from aluminum, stainless steel and other alloys.

The blanks are milled in width and length using the THV430’s specially designed twin spindle in one setup, instead of two, as close as ±.0005 in dimensionally and as close as .0002 in flatness, squareness and parallelism. Each Machine-Ready Blank is deburred, cleaned and vacuum packaged – ready to go directly from receiving into CNC machining centers to eliminate material prep, reduce set up time, part movement, scrap and wear and tear on machine tool inserts and cutters used to square material in process.

TCI Precision Metals (Gardena, CA) announced the installation of its newest high tech milling machine: a new Amada THV430 that represents the pinnacle of technology and precision in duplex milling. The THV430 provides a 4X increase in throughput over traditional milling machines and will help TCI shorten customer lead time and handle increased demand for its Custom Machine-Ready Blanks™.

The blanks are milled in width and length using the THV430’s specially designed twin spindle in one setup, instead of two. This reduces set up time and increases efficiency. One or more blanks can be produced together, up to the machine’s overall dimensional capacity of 16.93 in W x 16.93 in L x 5.91 in H. The value is passed to customers through shorter lead-times and competitive pricing, as quality remains a given.
