COE Press Equipment Corporation (Sterling Heights, MI) shipped the first of four orders for new straightener/reel combinations to Metal Flow Corporation (Holland, MI), a provider of deep drawn stamped components to the automotive industry. Each of the sets consists of a Model 350, 18 in power straightener and a heavy duty 18 in coil reel with 8,000 lb capacity. The straighteners can handle steel with 40,000 psi yield in widths from .030 in up to .250 in thick, depending upon the width of the coil stock. The equipment has a payoff rate of up to 95 fpm.
Two of the sets are being used to replace existing, competitor equipment and two will be paired with new AIDA press lines that are being installed. The next three orders are scheduled to ship in late 2015, and February and April 2016. All of the orders feature centralized controls for the straightener and reel combination.
