Magid Glove & Safety Manufacturing Company LLC (Romeoville, IL), a leading manufacturer and supplier of safety solutions and personal protective equipment (PPE), was recognized for new product innovation for the third time in the ASSE Safety Attendee Choice and ISHN Reader’s Choice awards, where their products won in the Hi-Viz Hand Protection, Eye/Face Protection and FR Clothing categories.
Their D-ROC® High Visibility Palm Coated Work Glove deliver dependable ANSI Level 4 cut protection, while the form-fitting, hi-visibility shell provides breathability, comfort and dependable protection. The polyurethane palm coating also ensures excellent grip and dexterity. “We developed this glove to address the growing need for advanced hi-viz solutions with a high level of cut protection,” explained Sarah Anderson, a senior product manager at Magid. “It’s an excellent choice for ensuring worker compliance in jobs like metal fabrication, metal handling, appliance and automotive manufacturing, construction and metal stamping.”
Their Gemstone® Myst® Featherweight Safety Glasses are one of the lightest safety glasses on the market, providing high impact ANSI Z87.1-2010 protection. The glasses also include flexible temples and a 9.5 base curve wraparound lens which allows for exceptional comfort and all day wear. “We are always working to create innovative PPE,” noted product manager Jennifer Walrich. “These featherweight safety glasses were designed for superior comfort and solid impact protection. They are so light and comfortable, workers will barely notice they are wearing them.”
AR Defense™ Base Layer Shirts are the newest addition to the FR protective clothing line. These long sleeve shirts comply with recent NFPA 70E standards and provide a higher total system arc rating with fewer layers and less weight. Using a unique blend of fibers, this shirt offers inherent flame resistance along with moisture-wicking properties to keep workers dry even on the most active days. “Shops looking for comfortable and lightweight, ATPV CAT 2 protection have been thrilled with these base layer shirts in the 6.5 oz. weight,” added Walrich. “This new addition helps workers stay compliant at a great value.”
The company also accepted the IEDA award from the Illinois Chamber of Commerce to become the third business in the Romeoville area to receive the award in the last seven years. “We are honored to be recognized as a key to Illinois’ economic growth,” said Greg Cohen, the chief executive officer of Magid. “Being located in Romeoville best meets our needs with a combination of office space and modern warehousing, along with a mezzanine that suits our manufacturing operations.”
Their 700,000 sq ft facility enabled the company to combine its corporate business office, manufacturing, and distribution operations. More than 500 employees work under one roof to efficiently provide smart safety solutions, reduce safety spend and improve overall compliance for customers.
