On display in Booth S-4179, Big Ass® Light’s brilliant, long-lasting High Bay LED light fixture from Big Ass Solutions (Lexington, KY) is designed specifically to address common issues in industrial and commercial facilities. Unlike competing fixtures that are made of stamped sheet metal, the High Bay LED is robustly constructed to withstand even the toughest environments. Built from a solid piece of heavy-duty, extruded aluminum, this light fixture features ribbed fins to increase its surface area. The design allows the entire structure to act as a heat sink, quickly dissipating heat that can shorten the lifespan of LEDs. The design ensures the fixture’s LEDs stay brighter for longer.

To test the fixture’s durability, employees ran over the Light High Bay LED with a pickup truck and conducted even more torture tests. The light fixture didn’t show a smudge, while the leading LED fixture folded. The Light High Bay LED’s innovative design accommodates both the ever-changing needs and uses of industrial and commercial facilities. Its patent-pending lumen maintenance tray protects the LEDs from dirt and debris. When the tray does get dirty, it can easily be removed, wiped clean and returned, so the LEDs stay vivid for up to 150,000 hours. The tray also provides light distribution options, allowing facilities to redirect lights to narrow, regular or wide angles as floor layouts change. A one-of-a-kind easy-access panel allows users to swap out drivers and other components, so this light fixture never becomes outdated. New wall and column mounts rotate 360 degrees to put light directly where the shop needs it.
The High Bay LED is a long-term, energy-efficient and money-saving solution. The company is so confident about the fixture’s performance that they offer a 60-day risk-free trial and back the product with a 7-year, bumper-to-bumper warranty, covering all components including the driver.
Condensation is a complex problem that forms when warm, moist air meets a cold surface – a 5 degrees Fahrenheit temperature difference is all it takes for condensation to form in warehouses, factories, auto shops, distribution facilities and more. Condensation costs the manufacturing industry untold billions in injuries and product loss each year – including $17.6 billion from rust alone, according to the National Association of Corrosion Engineers. It’s unpredictable, varies with the weather, and creates dangerous, slippery floors and damaging corrosion. Fans alone can’t always handle it, so Big Ass Fans’ engineers worked directly with customers to understand the problem and created a smarter tool for condensation control and prevention: Dewtect, which features a network of sensors that track conditions inside and outside facilities.
Dewtect monitors temperature, humidity and dew point data 24/7, anticipates when a condensation event is likely to occur, and responds by automatically engaging connected mechanical equipment – including fans, heaters and ventilation – to keep surfaces dry and safe. Dewtect constantly monitors weather and room conditions to predict the dew point – the temperature at which warm air can no longer hold moisture. When it senses an impending condensation event, it engages equipment to quickly raise the temperature of surfaces such as concrete floors, rolls of sheet metal or sensitive equipment above the dew point, preventing condensation. In the rare event condensation happens too quickly to predict, Dewtect automatically speeds up Big Ass Fans and other equipment to dry moisture before it causes damage.
The weather is always changing and Dewtect can, too. Included with the initial purchase of the system is the company’s Big Ass Advisory Service. Big Ass Fans engineers will visit the facility, collect data from the system, calibrate or replace sensors, update software, and sum up the system’s performance in a comprehensive report. This service keeps Dewtect performing at its peak year after year, even as conditions inside and outside facilities change.
Unrivaled airflow on the go: Shops said they wanted a portable fan big enough to provide serious airflow, but small enough to go wherever they need a breeze – indoors or out. Big Ass Fans delivered with Black Jack, which is designed with versatility in mind. Its 6.5 feet (2 m) frame fits through standard interior doorways and plugs into any 110Volt power supply, drawing less power than a toaster — only 7 amps at top speed. This fan moves air up to 120 feet (36.5 m) – one-third the length of a football field – yet it’s so quiet it won’t drown out nearby conversations. It has an attractive, matte-black finish that is perfect where comfort is necessary, style is appreciated and silence is golden. It’s ideal for shops, warehouses and tight corners just about anywhere. Arriving fully assembled, Black Jack is a plug-and-play air movement solution. Just roll it off the pallet, plug it in and cool down. Black Jack is also wet rated, so it can be hosed down for easy cleaning. Additional features and benefits include:
- 25 feet (7.6 m) power cord extends versatility and mobility
- Gearless direct-drive motor keeps the fan quiet and energy efficient
- Comes standard with indoor/outdoor wheels with rubber tread
- Variable speed controller offers fully adjustable airflow
- Locking wheels keep the fan in place even on the highest settings
- Steel frame and cage provide protection in the toughest environments
