Weld More Comfortably and Efficiently in Demanding Environments

Optrel marries the e684 helmet with advanced auto-darkening filter lens technology and optics to the innovative, ergonomically designed e3000 powered air purifying respiratory system.

Posted: October 28, 2015

To protect welders better and enable them to perform more efficiently with greater precision, the e684 helmet from Optrel uses exclusive Adaptive Shade Autopilot technology to automatically adjust the auto-darkening filter to the appropriate shade level between 5 and 13 as the operator welds. As the intensity of the arc changes, the shade level of the ADF changes hands-free and in high definition viewing.
As the only NIOSH-approved PAPR / helmet system with an automatic air flow check at start up that ensures welders receive the correct flow of air, eliminating manual inspections and mitigating additional risks, the e3000 PAPR from Optrel offers two-channel air distribution inside the helmet for a high level of comfort and an innovative HEPA filter design that protects against exposures to smoke, dust, and other particulates.

In Booth N-26059, Optrel Inc. (East Greenwich, RI), a global innovator of auto-darkening technology for welding helmets, announces the addition of the e684 helmet to its e3000 powered air purifying respiratory (PAPR) system. This new helmet/PAPR combination marries the most advanced auto-darkening filter (ADF) lens technology and optics with a highly innovative, ergonomically designed PAPR system. The e684 helmet features the exclusive Adaptive Shade Autopilot technology which automatically adjusts the e684 ADF to the appropriate shade level between 5 and 13 as the operator welds. As the intensity of the arc changes, so does the shade level of the e684 ADF — hands-free — and in high definition viewing. This new level of clarity not only keeps welders better protected, it enables them to perform more efficiently, with greater accuracy and precision every time.

The e3000 PAPR offers two-channel air distribution inside the helmet for a high level of comfort and an innovative HEPA filter design that protects against exposures to smoke, dust, and other particulates. It is the only NIOSH-approved PAPR / helmet system with an automatic air flow check at start up, which ensures that welders receive the correct flow of air, eliminating manual inspections and mitigating additional risks. “In an environment filled with significant respiratory hazards, welders do not have an option to remove their helmets to make adjustments,” explains Renee S. Bessette, the vice president of marketing and operations for Optrel. “Our new e3000 / e684 combination ensures that welders can work more comfortably, efficiently, and accurately over a long period of time.”

The e3000 PAPR with e684 helmet retails for approximately $1,860 and is now available through welding and personal protective equipment distributors in the United States and Canada, and through Optrel’s new web shop by clicking here.
