AAF International® (Louisville, KY) recently introduced several new products for a variety of applications with the launch of their new brand, REDFiltration™. Among the new products to be featured in Booth S-4088 are a new and improved version of the OptiFlo® cartridge collector, the OptiFlo RC; the RotoClone™ DownVent wet dust collector; a portable and efficient Weld Fume Extractor; and the future of fabric filtration, the FabriPulse™ Fusion.

The OptiFlo RC creates a winning balance of innovation and efficiency, resulting in lower operating costs, reduced maintenance and increased filtration performance. The new design features a quick seal hinged door for faster filter change outs and a patent pending active mandrel design. When the OptiFlo RC is combined with the class-leading REDClean™ cartridge, the entire cartridge is cleaned, substantially reducing the use of compressed air, a key performance measure when selecting any reverse pulse jet cartridge collector. REDClean utilizes advanced nanofiber technology to deliver superior dust capture and dust release properties, resulting in lower differential pressure. The reduction in compressed air use extends filtration life, offers significant savings on total cost of plant ownership and reduces the overall plant footprint.

The RotoClone DownVent is the perfect complement to the RotoClone product line of wet dust collectors. It excels in the efficient collection of light metals in metalworking environments to prevent the accumulation of explosive dusts and to ensure operators aren’t exposed to abrasive dust particles. The DownVent is a self-contained workstation combining both the downdraft table work surface and dust collector in a single compact arrangement. It features stainless steel wetted surfaces and a compact, ergonomic design to give plant managers placement flexibility, reduced space constraints, and requires minimal installation. New to the unit are adjustable tool shelves and a powerful LED work light to improve product quality and efficiency of production. The RotoClone DownVent is designed to meet NFPA 484: Standard for Combustible Metals. It requires less maintenance than a dry collector system since there are no filter elements to replace.

The Weld Fume Extractor is a lightweight, portable filter unit equipped with IFA-W3 certified two-stage filtering with a HEPA rated primary filter. It is a robust filter unit that was built for frequent use and requires minimal maintenance. Its durable steel housing is powder coated and hermetically sealed to ensure there are no air leaks. It offers unrivalled weld smoke removal performance, wherever and whenever. The versatile portability and simple filter change out make this unit the right choice for companies that need dynamic workspaces in today’s lean manufacturing environment. A unique “stay-in-place” exhaust arm swivels 360 deg to give welders an unmatched freedom of movement with very little effort. The extraction hood, located at the end of the exhaust arm, captures hazardous substances, which are passed through two filter stages. Purified air is then returned to the working area. The extraction hood is also easy to move and self-supporting, so it can maintain any desired position. No compressed air is required. With the Weld Fume Extractor, superior fume extraction for today’s metalworking processes, including the welding of stainless steel, is guaranteed. A filter monitor is included to increase safety for welders and all other personnel.

The newest member of the FabriPulse family of bag collectors is the FabriPulse Fusion, which was specifically developed to push the boundaries of traditional dust collection to create an unbeatable blend of high-performance filtration and innate strength. Some key benefits of using the Fusion include a minimum life cycle cost, low power consumption, ease of maintenance, reduced emissions and a compact, modular design. The flexible, modular design is easy to install and service, and it meets the stringent efficiency requirements mandated by today’s environmental regulations. Each FabriPulse Fusion is constructed from a combination of either two or three different basic modules, allowing selection from a wide range of filter sizes. The Fusion has a maximum filtration area in a minimum size filter house, and was designed to adapt to changes in emission regulations, while maintaining the lowest flange-to-flange differential pressure. The FabriPulse Fusion ensures an optimum residual differential pressure to maximize dust loading, which enhances efficiency by acting as a filter aid, reducing operational costs. Compressed air is used to automatically clean the filter media, ensuring maximum efficiency during continuous operation.
