ATS – Advanced Technology Services, Inc. (Peoria, IL)  announced it has formed a partnership with 3Discovered, Inc. (Chicago, IL), a leading industrial 3D printing services platform, to offer 3D printed factory equipment replacement parts to its MRO (maintenance, repair & operations) customers. The innovative partnership will expand ATS’ factory maintenance and industrial parts services by overcoming the critical delays involved with obtaining rare, obsolete or hard-to-find parts.

In the span of just a few years, 3D printed replacement parts have proven their quality and reliability in highly demanding industrial environments. In some cases 3D printed parts even outperform traditional equivalents, for example, plastic parts can be enhanced with metals to improve performance in harsh or hostile applications.

3Discovered is an exchange platform that facilitates the buying, selling and making of commercial-grade 3D printed parts and products. Through its network of trusted 3D Printing PartnersSM, 3Discovered is able to provide ATS and its industrial customers with top-quality replacement parts for virtually any kind of equipment or usage environment, quickly and economically.

Effective immediately, the company offers its 3D printed replacement part service through its Industrial Parts Services division. Beginning with hard-to-find parts and accessories for aged machinery and legacy manufacturing plants, ATS will continue to expand its offerings as 3D printing technologies continue to advance.

“3D printed parts are quickly becoming a highly reliable alternative to traditional replacement parts. We are leading the MRO industry with this new capability,” said Mike Waltrip, the vice president of ATS Industrial Parts Services. “3D printing offers multiple advantages over traditional manufacturing methods. By using the 3Discovered exchange platform, we will be able to provide a wider spectrum of solutions for our customers.”

“We are honored to partner with ATS. They are a true innovator in MRO services,” said Peer Munck, the chief executive officer of 3Discovered. “This is a historic milestone in what we believe to be a steady proliferation of 3D printing as the technology of choice for supplying critically-needed parts and products. Our platform was specifically developed to help companies seamlessly and securely incorporate this new technology in their supply chains, and we look forward to working with them to build on this opportunity.”
