Sciaky, Inc. (Chicago, IL), a subsidiary of Phillips Service Industries, Inc. (PSI; Livonia, MI) and leading provider of metal additive manufacturing (AM) solutions, was represented by international reseller EFESTO, LLC (Superior Township, MI) at the Additive Manufacturing Society of India (AMSI) Conference that took place September 7-8 in Bangalore, India. EFESTO is the Exclusive Diamond Sponsor of AMSI.
Ashok Varma, the chief executive officer of EFESTO, highlighted Sciaky’s Electron Beam Additive Manufacturing (EBAM) systems and expansive AM services during the event. The expanded lineup of EBAM 3D printing systems included new options for medium, large, and extra-large part applications, making this technology the most widely scalable metal 3D printing solution in the market (in terms of work envelope) for parts ranging from 305 mm (12 in) to nearly 6 m (20 ft) in length.
EBAM is also the fastest deposition process in the metal 3D printing market, based on average deposition rates of 6.80 kg (15 lb) of metal per hour. With a dual wirefeed option, a shop can double their deposition rates up to 13.60 kg (30 lb) of metal per hour, as well as create “graded/super alloy” parts or ingots. EBAM technology utilizes wire feedstock, which is available in materials such as titanium, tantalum, niobium, tungsten, molybdenum, Inconel, aluminum, stainless steels, nickel alloys, and more.
“We are pleased to have a knowledgeable additive manufacturing professional like Ashok Varma of represent us at AMSI,” said Mike Riesen, the general manager of Sciaky. “Our EBAM metal 3D printing systems and world-class AM services provide manufacturers a variety of options to save significant time and money on the production of metal parts and prototypes.”
