Its preventative maintenance plans help shops prevent unplanned downtime by evaluating machinery, recommending repairs, and performing machine maintenance at regularly scheduled intervals.

Downtime due to machine wear or neglect can be eliminated 100 percent of the time with the correct maintenance program in place. ServiceMax software allows technicians and facility managers to manage the entire work process, from work order to recalls to service. It applies preset data collection functions and applies usable metrics to track how many applications have been run on a given machine, and part replacement patterns, and previous service, providing technicians with a means to quickly determine issues without a site visit.

When a site visit is necessary, the technician can specify proper parts from an inventory that is reflected on the screen and is maintained according to the facility’s replacement and repair record. Cost savings is significant because paperwork is reduced and repeat service visits due to part inventory shortage are eliminated.
