New Head of R&D at Jenoptik Lasers
Dr. Valentin Loyo-Maldonado now leads laser research and development for the company.

Since the beginning of June 2015, Dr. Valentin Loyo-Maldonado has taken charge over the Research & Development department in the Lasers business unit of the Jenoptik Lasers & Material Processing division of Jenoptik AG (Jena, Germany). Dr. Loyo has vast experience in the development of semiconductor and high-power lasers. Since the end of 2014 he was responsible, in the position of a group leader, for the development of diode lasers at Jenoptik. Before that, the he worked as the vice president of engineering and manufacturing at Intense Inc. (North Brunswick, NJ). He now takes over the leadership from Dr. Martin Leitner, who left the company at the end of May of this year.
In his previous positions, Dr. Loyo was responsible, among others, for the product development and test engineering at companies in the U.S. and the UK. In addition to his comprehensive developmental knowledge, he has gained more than 14 years of leadership and project management experience in multi-cultural teams.
