COE Press Equipment (Sterling Heights, MI) announced that it has received orders for four new coil processing lines from Lear Mexican Seating Corp for installation at the company’s Saltillo, MX location. All of the coil processing systems will feed new AIDA metal stamping presses being installed at the facility.
Two of the lines are designed to process coil stock up to 24 in wide thickness, from .039 in to .125 in depending upon the material width. These systems each consist of a 24 in servo roll feed with a ServoMaster TouchTM controller, a 24 in by 14 ft threading table, a heavy duty straightener, and a 15,000 lb and 24 in wide capacity coil reel. The third system consists of the same equipment, but is configured to handle coil stock up to 36 in wide and up to .125 in when running full-width.
The fourth system is for coil up to 48 in wide and can process coil from 0.039 in to 0.118 in thick material depending upon the width and steel strength. It features a 48 in servo roll feed with a ServoMaster Touch controller, a 48 in by 14 ft dual threading table, and a 20,000 lb, 48 in width capacity coil reel. This heavy duty straightener features an alligator style peeler-dekinker station for hands-free threading of the coil strip.
Each of the new systems features the new HD Heavy Duty Series straighteners designed specifically for processing of Advanced High Strength Steels (AHSS), which can be problematic to traditional straightener designs. COE will also be providing installation, startup and training for each of the lines, which began in March 2015.
