Machine Safety Management Corporation (MSM; Minneapolis, MN) has announced that it is the recipient of the 2015 Award for Innovation in Occupational Safety Management from the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE; Park Ridge, IL). Formally announced at the Safety 2015 Professional Development Conference held June 7-10 in Dallas, TX, the award honors companies that bring innovation and creativity to managing safety in the workplace.

MSM received the honor for its Machine Safety Management Software solution. Currently in use by a wide range of organizations, from school districts to Fortune 500 companies, the software helps improve machine safety, reduce accidents and maintain compliance with applicable standards and regulations. A comprehensive machine safety solution, the software provides organizations with the tools necessary to maintain up-to-date machine safety audit records for internal and OSHA compliance.

“The software represents a generational leap in machine safety management,” said Jack Reiter, the president and chief executive officer of Machine Safety Management. “From day one, our commitment has been to care for people first and improve the safety of machine operators. To be honored by the ASSE with this award is humbling and also affirming. We are accomplishing what we set out to do, make an impact on workplace safety.”

Launched in 2011, the software is a secure, cloud-based solution that enables organizations throughout North America to conduct, store and manage machine safety audits, risk assessments and machine information; helping to reduce machine related injuries, OSHA citations and fines. A central information repository gives safety managers an accurate, detailed view of the entire organization’s machine safety compliance.

“Maintaining accurate records is not only a compliance requirement,” explains Reiter, “but having the documentation is an essential element for protecting operators from harm. Through the Machine Safety Management software platform, we’ve been able to streamline the process so that documentation is no longer a burden on organizations.”
